Floyd Rigby is the founding Director of the Southern Utah Heritage Choir. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern Utah University in Vocal Performance, and earned his Master’s Degree and pursued doctoral studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
While enjoying a rich career as baritone soloist, he soon discovered the choral arts were his first love, that it was far more rewarding to have an ensemble of musical friends share the spirit and joy of music, than perform by himself. Mr. Rigby studied choral directing with Carl Zytowski, Paul Salamunovich and Dr. Blaine Johnson. He has taught choral music and given vocal instruction on the high school and college levels, where his students and choirs have received wide acclaim. He served on the Board of Directors of the Utah Arts council and as the St. George Arts Commission Chairman.
He is married to the love of his life, Claire. Together they share their busy lives with their six children and the twenty-seven Grandchildren.
