How to Apply:
Complete the online application form.
Submit headshot, high school transcripts, and letter of recommendation
Each applicant should email a high quality digital headshot, digital PDF copies of high school transcripts, and a digital PDF copy of a letter of recommendation (from someone other than your high school choir teacher) to [email protected]
In addition to this letter of recommendation, your high school choir teacher will also be asked to submit an online recommendation form on your behalf. This recommendation form will be sent directly from the scholarship committee to your choir teacher. In order to get this teacher recommendation submitted in ample time, please email the committee at [email protected] 2-4 weeks in advance of the deadline with your teacher’s name and email address so the scholarship committee can send the form to your teacher to complete before the November 29th deadline.
In person audition
After submitting your online application, headshot, transcripts, and letter of recommendation, the scholarship committee will review your application. Finalists will be contacted by mid December to be invited to a live audition, which will take place at the beginning of January. The audition repertoire can be an art song, an opera aria, a folk song, a sacred song, or a song from musical theater. The applicants will be responsible for providing their own live piano accompaniment for the live audition. The winners will be selected to perform in The Southern Utah Heritage Choir’s Spring concert, which will be held on March 3 at 7:30 pm and will receive a $1000 scholarship.
